8oz dried vs. recently harvested drying plants

anyone know where the line is drawn?

if the legal amount, 6 plants, is grown well then harvested, there will likely be more than 8oz by the time it finishing drying and curing.

even if the farmer plans to get rid of anything above 8oz once its ready, when is the legal deadline set?

i think you are worried about the letter of a rule and not the spirit--- I think after it is dried and how it is bottled up sorta say would be one indicator on a fluke investigation. If you are doing other then what the Att Gen has in mind I think there lies your problems. Traffic, etc... I guess if you were to document and photo your harvest (as most of us like to do "well maybe our first or second") but Snap a before a trimmed down and where they are drying---after that put them in 5 gall buckets with lids to cure them---dont forget to open and let em breath 2xaday.
I know what you mean I have bud fall/shake or bake stuff that amounts to a few zips and I could see how that could creep up on you? I think after you get the hang of it you can cut back on plants or not expect so much failure or stragglers/ So plan for that---I like to be cutting flowers once a week but the build up of drying like you mentioned in your post.

I like cali chronic's suggestion about documenting the harvest. Since you can't predict the absolute amount the harvest will yield, the very best you can promise the state is that if it should surpass the 8oz limit you'll immediately have it moved. And by documenting, ie. taking photos throughout, you can help prove that you remained within the 6 plant limit. The rest is in nature's hand.

Still... twould be nice if the state would just add in some details to the rule so there's no confusion.

So if your over the # of 12 mature plants and waiting for sex to show, are you in violation even though once it's determined it's a male and your gonna cull it ? Hope I explained that right

Read your laws again... 8oz of "Dried" Marijuana..Meaning after the drying and curing process... So whatever is considered dried and usuable will considered as such...

if it has a root it is a plant...

if it is cut it is processed...

January 4, 2010 California Supreme Court deemed with so many varying medical needs Limits on amounts growing and/or processed (dry) cannot be set therefore possession is unlimited within reason (stated in ruling 50 plants and 30 ounces processed.) I checked with my NORML contact here in Del Norte and another at Humboldt State University, Arcata confirmed but individual county law enforcement agencies are dealing with it differently. In an amazing turn of local events in Eureka, Humboldt County officials are not only discussing but planning Humboldt County Branding for the pending legalization! This can be confirmed with an archive search of the Times Standard Eureka
a quote I had made on another thread...

the bend I got on it was that 215 has no limits 'per-say' other then the needed amount per med recommendation. Which needs to be reasonable or you will get hit with a traffic charge and not for driving!
So if you are using an 1 oz a month how much do you need to grow? If you grow outside and bank up for the winter (and not 23 lbs fool!) haha! Reasonable to be found with either 6 to 8 oz in hand and a few girls flowering to keep that cycle going. I am sure the person in charge of deeming ( Jurors) would be able to deduce a reasonable amount needed. Lets say if you were in to eating homemade spaghetti everyday and you use only homegrown tomatoes how many plants does one need for oneself? I think it becomes a judgment call. "polishing the Appkle" If it were 12 Plants Flowering I would think nothing of it escpecially if it were a recommendation that used it mosly in butter or cooking---I use 3.5 zipz to 1.5 lbs of butter---all the finger size "so-called-non-desirabale" or "not-tops" buds and leaf. no real shade leaves as those are used up and snipped and I make repellent with them. I then cook with al those lil buds and trimmed down "tops" or medical grade cannibus. I think you would have a little more evidence in your place of traffic then to be a plant top heavy or a few oz over (in a jar not bagged up) Should look like Costco Groceries in the Pantry like I keep the rice.

Click on my previous post "busted" and you will know that some of what you are saying around here doesn't make sense or apply!

Note: I am also sorry for getting off in the wrong start but sometimes people need to be corrected, otherwise you might lead a few newbie members astray!
