8 inch fan to cool 6 inch cool tubes?

Like the title says, can I use an 8 inch fan to cool 6 inch cool tubes? Will the reducing through the tubes hurt the fan? I want more cfm than a 6 inch is putting out to be used with a speed control as well.
Give a noob some advice before I waste some hard earned money.

yup gonna have to get a reducer for the fan

I planned on the 2 reducers to connect to the tubes. Should I used 6 or 8 inch ducting and would it damage the fan?
