i'm doing a big grow outdoors next year and most of the profit i make will be put twords the new setup and building it.. i will have about $8000 to build it and get all supplies.. despite the money i will be using for the room i still want the bill to be kept low.. my room sizes so far is a 9'x8' flowering room (the ceilings are 8') a 6x8 veg/mother/cloneroom and a drying room that's 8x8 i want to use 600watt hps lights for flowering and use regular floros for veg/mothers/clones i will have about 16 plants in the room (4 rows of 4) i will have a 5 gallon bucket for each plant filled with soil.. and 2- 55 gallon barrels to hold water in.. i want a pro's point of view on this setup with some advice or how many lights fans that i will need to get an awesome grow and harvest

$8000 worth?

You may be getting a little ahead of yourself. Those chickens havn't hatched yet, but you've already got them counted, numbered and eaten.

9'x8' and only 600 watts ? man... I would definately go 2 1,000 watt hps ...

Uh, ya....what he said.....600watts will light a 3'x4' grow

12sq. ft. x 50w/per foot=600w

you have 600 watts/72sq.ft.=12 watts per foot......they may not even set flowers at this light concentration.....under the light they will be fine but the rest of the room will dissapoint you.

To give you an idea....i just tweaked my set-up and now run 4000 watts to light 2-8x4 trays.....well north of 50 watts per foot....I was at 40w/ft before and was not satisfied with flower production at the edges of the grow.

my $.02

ya a 600 watt hood for that size of a room would just be a huge dissapointment lol....
definately go with 2 1,000 watt hoods... hell you could even go crazy enough with an 8,000 watt budjet and go 2,000 watt hps and 1,000 watt mh ... haha hell y not

he said he wants 600 watt LIGHTS for his flowering room!! he didn't say one.
ok ok ok so I missed that...

but still your wasting your money buying multiple 600 watt hps lights when you can buy the same amount of 1000 watt lights, if your gonna go big ... "go big"

Old in the Way... has the way of it.

but keeping in mind that you want to limit electrical consumption... in a flowering chamber that size (4) 600w HPS in vented hoods or cooltubes would certainly be sufficient for a nice yeild. (9' by 8')

and you said you wanted to use regular floros for the veg/mother/clones... i would guess that you would want about 8 or 9 of those. (4 foot 2 bulb fixtures)
