70 watt hps worth it for one plant?

man a 70watt HPS bulb with the proper ballast would give you enough light for more than one plant - if you grew just one with that light, You would have some serious, serious budddds!

i dont have them yet. but u will have to wire a plug at the end. these are made to go on houses and stuff like that. they have built in balasts so its just 1 unit

all of those small lights will work great but don't let the plant get too tall. try LST or other pruning methods to prevent getting too high and losing canopy penetration.

with my plans i was going with 2 or 3 plants n a SCROG i've followed lots of threads with SCROG using cfls that resulted into good amounts of healthy buds. i have a few 42w cfls i might throw in there just for the heck of it.

ez: are you using 50w? how far have you found to be a safe distance with out burning?

I used to run a 70 HPS , added with a few CFLs and grew 4 small plants in a SCROG - 2 plants per screen. Worked pretty well - 1-2 oz each month if I alternated months to put new plants in - like a mini perpetual system.

70 Watt...believe it or not 1 inch from the top...I am using the one thats fully encased with glass shield...I have 2 under it now and in order to fully cover both plants I have it 3 inches above both...I made an aluminum frame to hold it and using the good old chain and s hooks method to lower and raise.I do have it supplemented with dual 36 inch T8 floro tubes on the sides..I am going to get the other one so I can have 2 at different heights...as I try and overlap harvesting...1 comes out and 1 goes in.. the one going in is much shorter than the one getting ready to come out and it would be more effective...since going to this combo my plants are much tighter...lower bud sites are very tight aganist the main stem...and the stretch factor seems to be much less than when using CFL
