You want to give the trichomes times to develop, but bud size doesn't really seem to increase in the last week.
What about flowering for 7 weeks, then just sticking the plants somewhere for a week or two? That way you'll be able to get almost one extra harvest a year.

Do buds gain size / weight the last week? It doesn't really seem like it, but it's kind of hard to tell when you look at them everyday.
