600W LED / Cob combo

not long ago I inherited a (practically) brand new LED-Cob light.

This light has 2 dimmer dials that can control light intensity -- one for blue/veg and one for red/flowering.

As a pretty new grower (a few old school grows in the 90's) I've got an okay grasp of (some) of the science behind blue/red spectrum and what they mean to plants, but just wanted some feedback on what would be optimal - back in the day i went through a few grows with just HPS and I got reasonable results.

So, according to the tiny manual it came with it says to just use the blue dial/spectrum during vegetative growth.

And then to use both blue and red dimmer dials for flowering.

Is this correct? no red at all during veg?

I ask this since many LED's dont have 2 dimmers and are full spectrum (but still mostly in the red?) out of the box.

Any thoughts with these type of LED/COB combo?

Thanks!

It is correct yes but if I'm honest I'd have them all running through the entire grow. More light the better. Obviously you control the plants life cycle via the dark hours in 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower. The more light you give them the stronger and bigger they will get.
