simple question. Is a 600 watt HPS enough for 10 plants? Also, with spacing aside, whats the max that should be under one of them?
600W HPS enough lumens?

if u were to flower a whole bunch of 3inchers so they would end up being kinda tiny like a mini sea of green then i'd say around 15..i just grew these 2 plants, once they were rooted, i vegged for 5days with a 400w. then switched to 12/12 with a 1000w. ended up with 13.7 grams off one and 11.5 off the other

yea, i was hoping i could do about 8 to 10. but then again, im also doing a scrog, so it may not make since for me to have so many but im told there's a lot of space where they will be when i move.

its correct for SCROG but not SOG. You don't typically train when using SOG, you just have a whole bunch of plants growing to get more bud. With SCROG, you train the plants to have an even canopy, so all the buds get approximately equal amount of light, and thats how you get more bud. But, SCROG becomes less efficient if you have too many plants under one net. That's why i said it may not make since for me to have so many.

yes you're correct. Training new groeth is one of the main reasons for a SOG/SCROG

if you run smaller plants you can use a 600 for 10 mabey use pots as small as one gallon create a good cannopy cause 600's dont have that much penetration
side space is your enemy as it allows more room for light to disapate when i ran lights to small for my space i built faux walls to move reflectants as close as possible
scrog needs training sog dosent scrog utillizes veg and week 1 to 2 12/12 stretch time to train the branching into a screen sog utillizes multipul same stature clones in small pots packed in with little to no veg

There's no such thing as a better technique. It's what ever the individual grower is best at. There's people who can produce crazy amounts of bud with SoG topping supercropping LST, ect, ect just because they have tons of experience with it. The best techniques to use are the ones that you have the proper amount of knowledge of and the required room to do them correctly.
