600w Hortilux

Is a 600w Hortilux to strong for two plants in the beginning of the growing stages? if not how far away should they be kept away from the light and if so how many plants would even it out? Thanks for taking the time to answer.

600 watts will luminate about 4x4 more than perfect for 2 plants

thanks, how many plants do you think it would be safe to grow under 600w without pushing it and would it be better to get a florecent bulb for growing even know 600w is more then enoguh for 2 plants and if so how many watts per florecent bulb would be good for 2 plants?

I use a 600 hortilux in a 3.5 x 2.5 area and have grown as many as 14 plants. I only grow 6 at a time now ... but I use an aero system instead of Deep Water Culture (DWC). The yield is anywhere between 8 - 13 ounces of quality, finished bud, depending upon the strain. Two plants under a 600, if grown in a Screen of Green (SCROG) style should yield more than enough for your personal use and some left over for your buddies.

Grow your seedlings and root your cuttings under a couple of two-foot, twenty watt floros. Then transfer them to the 600 and keep the light three feet above the plants at first. Then, over a several day period, gradually lower the light ... then keep it around 18" above the plants for the rest of the grow.

Nope ... that's not what I said, Bro. Use the floros to germinate, root cuttings and to get seedlings rooted substantially, like three or four sets of leaves, THEN move them under the 600 HPS for Vegging AND flowering. The reason you'll want to keep the 600 about three feet above the plants at first is that they are just little babies. Gotta be gentle with them *lol*

You'll be using your 600 throughout the entire grow, except for the germination, seedlings and cuttings. Good luck ...
