Rollitup I need help!!!

I have a 60 gallon resevoir connected to 36 5 gallon buckets , however I want to fill up my buckets to about 2/3 and fill my resevoir, however when my pails are to the desired fullness with water the resevoir is only about 10% full, if I add more water the res never continuously holds more then the 10% but the buckets will overflow, What can I do?

Sounds impossible... so it fills your pails to desired level but only very little water in the rez left? You need bigger rez. Even with a float to top off the rez when buckets drains back into rez it will over flow cause your top off is filling up the rez while buckets eating.

Even if you do manage to hook up the top off valve so it only fills rez when they pails are not filling up you still have to guess how much tap water or ro water was added to top off with nutes.

Think i mis understood but ill leave the top writing just in case...

You talking about gravity filling the buckets without a control bucket? You can raise your buckets up and that will allow you to add more water into rez. If your buckets and rez are connected always then the water level will always only stay as high as the buckets are. Anything higher an they will overflow.

During the week most people only add plain water to the res. This way you don't cause nute lock out adding more nutes to a already used up mixture the plants pulled what they wanted out of.

The float valve will be fine and your buckets won't return back to the res. That's the whole point of a float valve. There cheap and easy to install.
