6" Flex Duct vs 6" Cool Tube

It's the simple stuff that makes you feel stupid. I just got a 1000W combo package from Best Choice Products

It lights up real nice, and the price was right. So, I'm putting together a 4X4X8 grow tent and putting the pieces together.........but no matter how I fuss with it, my 6" round foil duct will NOT slip over either end of the Cool Tube. They just butt up at apparently the exact same diameter:wall:. Sure, I can do a ghetto fix with foil tape, but isn't this stuff supposed to be designed to fit? WTF? Not a show stopper, but irritating as hell. Am I missing something obvious?

try going to home depot and in the duct area, they sell adapters for thats are flared on one end.

the duct connections are usually very tight...

i stretch the end as much as possible and then twist the duct while pushing it onto the connection.

Yeah, I just wasn't being aggressive enough. After flattening the rim of the flex duct and sort of squeezing it over the cool tube ends, it finally slipped on. The Home Depot duct area can be very confusing, but the main thing is not to bee too shy when jamming the pieces together. And whatever you can't jam, duct tape will handle. Go figure.....first time I ever used dict tape on a duct.

I had a premade piece of 8" duct that I tried so hard to get onto an 8" elbow bought from the depot. I decided that no amount of jamming and turning and forcing was going to get that thing on so I just started bending the edges with my hands kind of crimping like in around the diameter so it was sorta tapered and then it still wouldn't go on easily. You would have to hold some of the ends in. Twas a bitch. I made sure I duct tapped that thing up extra good so as to never have to go through that horror again.
