6-8 5500k 42w cfl vs. 150-250w hps

Hello guys, I'm trying to decide which is better and more efficient and which heats up more. Im tryin to save on energy of coarse, and I would need heat to be kept low, obviously somewhere around what I have now. SO all in all Im asking is how much more heat and energy would I be using using clfs vs hps. Also is the wattage that say using a 250watt hps light 18 hrs the same as using ur PC with a 250w power supply? Thanks
