5gal water jug

Has anybody ever used a 5gal water jug the one with the spout at the bottom. Got one laying around and thought that it would be good cause it would be light proof and I would think it would hold cooler temps. Just wondered if anybody has tried it with success before I start cutting into it.

I did it, didn't like it. Waste of a cooler.

i'd do it if i could find 8 of the same igloo 5 gallons for cheap.
