Better quality equipment helped us get a great customer base immediately. I was a gardener, not a pot growers. Love these plants now. They can be beautiful. Not a big toker but love to grow them. Other outside crops do not get the attention they once did
, lol. Think it has to do with price per lb.

Our first setup cost more than I imagined. 30 grand in led lighting. A/c and electrical upgrades, paint and materials all added up. Glad we did it correct. Cant hardly get that stuff dried and it's gone.
What Lights and yield are you seeing on those 20? Im leaning towards 20- X-6 1000w. Growing DWC.

I am thinking im going to be about 80-90k in before i start seeing profit on this build. But that profit should turn its self in pretty quick.

Thanks for the input everyone

I would go with the x6 on paper the specs seem really good. I hope you follow brought with your build I wanna see! Good luck growing! I kinda do things weird but it works for me and it's fail proof. I aero my clones and pot them in soil lol. Just remember the more simple it is the less worry you have. When you have pumps and what not doing things it's all about having spare parts to change them, how fast you can change it. That's why I keep my ladies in soil during veg and soil I get paranoid lol

5 x 5 foot print means you need 25 de lights= so roughly 6250 dollars.

Led will be more like 22,500 or more.

Per sq ft nothing is yielding more than DE HPS. Led is making more per watt but it is not matching the per sq ft yield yet.

Might just be the way I think about it but more grams per sq ft on a room that size adds up to more profit regardless of the electric bill. Not to mention in 5 years or so your gonna have to drop another 20k on LEDs to replace those, as they do degrade over time.

In a 25x25 room you ain't putting 25.

In a 25x25 you ain't putting 25 DEs in there. The heat management is too much. I would put 14 lights, 1x 5 ton 1 quest dehumidifier etc. You will have space to walk and not crawl like me lol

I wouldn't be guessing on a 50k investment I'd get a lighting layout from gavita or luxx. But I'm betting they would call for atleast 20 lights. 2 -5 ton units would cool 20 lights in there pretty easily.

Here is a 10 light layout from gavita, it is in a roughly 12x18 area. So if you doubled it you would have a 24x18 area covered by 20 lights. Which is still kinda low if you go by their information which says to light the whole room, not rows of plants.

Not trying to knock on you or anything so don't take this the wrong way. This is from my experience. I've seen setups done like this by people exactly like this. Yields were awful. For the amount of lights in the room those guys were getting 2 per light. The lights were hung really high spaced too lots of dead zones. Sure if you look at the room it looks well lit but in reality it isn't. Lights do 50% of the work the rest is up the grower. Follow the rules of diminishing returns. Just cause you can out a lot of lights doesn't mean. You will get more. Same with putting more plants. You need balance. That's why I said in a 25x25 room just run 12-14 lights you'll have a lot of space to walk around. Hang them at 12-13ft and able to be adjustable.

Sorry on late reply. Dont go online alot. We started with 2 20 by 20 flower rooms. We initally went with 12 gavita de hps 1000.s in one room. The other room we went with 12 kind xl 1000 blah blah blah, lol. Led we went with a 3.5 ton a/c and gavita hps a 5ton a/c unit. Rooms also have quest 225s. Since then those rooms both have a 50 50 hps led mixture. Gavita and fluence led,s and gavita de 1000,s.

Not experienced with DE or CMH only LED.

Thinking either 20 Gavita 1700e or ChiLed X-6 600w. And after first harvest start the vertical grow.

Not concerned with it being the cheapest but rather most efficient.
If you are considering ChilLed and have little wiggle room with time the new ULTRA x3 330LEDs come out in June.1200/ light cover a 4x4 flower and are the game changer for LED lighting industry. They will be new standard.
