5 Gallon DWC going into flower - Nute Question

So I am about to put two of my Mango Kush into flower under a scrog. They are both in separate 5 gallon DWC buckets. I have never flowered in DWC before, and I don't want any disastrous surprises, so I am wondering what is a "safe" PPM to bring my plants into flower? They have a 3' x 2' screen 50% filled. PPM is currently at 500 in one and ~550 in the other. They have been eating nutes, PPM Was ~1000 and now reservoir is 30% emptied, nutes are down to 500ppm.

I wanted to know how long I should wait before increasing nutrients, they are moving from being under ~150W of CFL to a 600w HPS.

Thank you for any help!

Ok cool, I have plants in Hempy that I started out right at 1200 (8:16 Lucas) when they began flower. They are at 3 weeks and tolerated it very well, so I figured I would shoot for around that and sounds like it worked for you, so that's what I'll do. Going to put them under the 600 tomorrow at lights on, in fresh nute water. I am SOOOOOO excited to see the growth of these two 5 gal. buckets. It's my first DWC that I have put into flower like I said. I have 300 GPH running through two air stones in each bucket. Hoping for explosive growth and big colas!

Starting at where your veg nutes were could be a good starting point for flowering, there
is no one universal number at what the each plant can handle and there could be many
variables to help decide that.

The trick is to dial in your system by listening to what the plants want. Your plants will
start to drink more and more nutes and peak during your flower so you want to make
sure you're giving her what she wants. You can get away with going lower than they'll
drink but you could be sacrificing yield in the process.

Simply put, when your PPM's rise that means your plants are drinking more water than
nutes and you need to back off a bit. If your PPM decreases, like you had mentioned,
then this is usually a sign that they could be drinking more.

I tend to just keep a check twice a day of where they're at ass well as how much RO
water I'm adding back. This helps give me a good idea of where things are at and
hopefully give them everything.

Those sound like pretty high PPM's. I try not to go over 900-1000. I find that PH really starts to fluctuate at that level, and don't really see any added growth. My 2cents

It all depends on the strain. Some will be happy with a lower ec/ppm others want a higher amount, the plants will let you know either way.
Rarely I've had to go over 1K ppm for a dwc grow. Many indica dom. strains happy in the 650-800ppm range flowering, while some Sativas doms have wanted more 1K+.
The overall size of the plant is a large factor in what it uptakes as well.

Just as mentioned previously, if ppm goes up (and the ph trending downward) its time to back off the nutes.
A slow rise in ph over the week with the ppm going down along with the water level usually means its just right if all signs of good health are exhibited with the plants.
