well as of right now 2 flo's 1 is like a garden light from a local store and the other is a Ecoflo sunlight flo bulb..... i'm going to be soon upgrading to 2 4 foot flo's on each side..... a 5X7 room..... so with 2 flos on each side what light combo's should i use for each set? should i get a couple cfl's too?

5 by 7 is my veg room size as well and the number of lights depends on the number of plants, if u just got a few I'd say some four footers and some cfls will do fine, if ya got a few more id get the flouro tubes the cfls and a 400 watt metal halide (usually there are clothes hanger to hang this beast from), but if ur using this room soaly for veg get cool white bulbs for ur flouros and i here mixing some warm lights in veg helps as well i figure ya can have too many kinds of lights. Oh and when ur shopping for ur cfls go for the highest watt(usually the biggest phisically) and check the K as well, good luck brotha

i'm no expert grower but here is a pic of about a 5 day old plant (about 2-3" tall) and the same plant with sisters at around 30 days old (about a foot tall)...

email that is a fucking bushy ass plant. geee, what kind of setup do you have, floro tubes?

there are three plants in that picture of them and yeah - they are bushy buggers. they are wider than they are tall! i'll be getting around to posting a journal soon to detail this grow i think but to answer your question...

The strain is PPP. topped once (FIM)
the hydro system is the rainforest 66.
The nutes are General Hydroponics Flora series, Floralicious, KoolBloom and BioBizz RootJuice.
The light is a 1000w dual-spectrum HID (600wHPS/400wMH in the same reflector that burn at the same time).

ahhh you topped it, how old did you top it at? right now i dont have much vert space but i will be upgrading soon sooo i think i learnedabout topping a little late but i hope to try it some timei just started with some lst, so we will see how that goes. if you have a journal i will def. stay watching that with those kind of plants!!!!!! MVG

I just started 6 plants about 6 days ago. I have already lost two of them. They just fell over and would not stay up. I checked them today and i think that i am losing another one. The two really good ones are about 3 inches tall with the first two leaves coming out good but the main stem is really thin. I am using two cfl's and i have them hanging about 4 inches from the tops. Should i move the lights up alittle or what. I am going to be adding more lights in a week or two but would like these plants to get to the point that i can sex them before trying to start all over. They are growing in miracle grow potting soil in 16ounce cups. I was going to wait about 2 more weeks to transplant them in bigger pots. I am only trying to get 2 female plants. This is the first time that i have tried to grow anything so i am kinda lost when it comes to nutes and stuff. Can anyone point me to the right thread to read or have any comments that would help.

id say get ur cfls at least 2 in away, what kind are they? and to suport ur fallen either a pencil, paper clip, whatever u can find until she can get some root/stalk stregth

take a straw cut it to size, put a slit in it all the way down, and open it up put it around the stem and let er grow for a bit with it...once she get's a good size going on and can support herself take the straws off, also have a small fan blowing on them, it will strengthen the stem

You can also move it to a bigger pot and bury it down a little bit more till it's about 1" from leaves

Look at widow makers threds about growing..it has all the info you need

According to my notes, I topped them when they where 22 days old. To be honest though - they were bushy as hell without topping them.
