4x2x5 tent and hydroponics w scrog

You're right about the net - squares are way too big and not not enough tension to be effective. You really wanna pin the thing down every day to grow sideways from a young age (i.e. put the screen 8" above the pot and keep the squares at 2.5"). I normally do 3 x plants in a 6 x 2 x 4 space so scrog is the only way. It averages 26-28oz depending on the strain under 2 x 400 hps. Flower space isn't ready yet so I'm trying 2 plants in the 3 x 3 veg tent. They have the same issue as you - really tight node spacing. Think it'll be fine though, just have to veg a week or so longer and keep training
I found the intended scrog nets to be next to useless as well. Ended up using metal grate instead. i got 4x4" small gauge fencing panel and cut it to 110cmx50cm for a 2x4 and slid it up and down using ties depending on height. I found the sgrog nets have huge holes and the netting is under next to no tension leading to way too much distortion.

6x2 is the footprint I want to move to next. 4x2 just ain't cutting it. I found cheap 180x60x200 tents for $85ish so I might step up and join you in the triple plant club lol.

Takes like 20 mins to build one with some eye hooks, string and 1/2" x 1/2" timber. Just get a socket attachment for your drill that fits the eye hook inside to save your poor fingers screwing them all in hahah. I found the metal (chicken wire, etc.) are a PITA come harvest time. String you just cut with scissors and spend 10 mins lacing up a new one. I really like to get good tension on the net pushing them down so the metal tended to cut into branches too. Defo join the 6" 3 plant club man, you won't regret it

I can confirm harvest was a royal pain lol. I had to pull one plant earlier and had to use bolt cutters and a lot of swearing to get it out of the tent lol. It was 3mm wire so not too bad to cut.

I just looked at the fence panels and my OCD liked the clean lines. "So symmetrical"

If you can dim your lights or move them higher that will also stretch out those nodes a bit
The lights were on 25% (300w mars hydro led) and all the way up. It just did not stretch. By the time it went up 5 cm through the net, like you said, there was just not enough tension for the net to be effective because the branches were so "fat" by now. First time doing scrog, and this caught me off guard since my first one was totally different.

It's 4 weeks after flip tomorrow, the buds are developing nicely, and I will just do one more major defoliation and leave it until harvest. It's already amazing to me since this is my second grow.

I'm glad I went the safe way and put only one plant. The roots are ridiculously huge, the plant is taking 90 % of the space and it's so big it's leaning against the tent walls. If I had two in here, it would be a total catastrophe. The airstones and the water chiller pump are completely covered by roots.
Ok, so if anybody wonders about hydro with 4x2x5 tent... here's what happened to me 2.5 months in. 10 gallon tote, standard dwc.

I messed up scrog because the plant grew unusually short with tiny internode spacing. The "holes" in the trellis were just too big for the plant. I think it's because I topped it early, but it might be genetics or something else. It's RQS White Widow feminized. Either way, scrog for the most part failed, but the plant is doing well. I played it safe because I need the harvest, so minimal training, defoliation, or any kind of stress. For this grow I can tolerate smaller yield.

Seen this thread and just wanted to share some insight lol I'm new myself to the 2×4 area but I was able to fit 3 girls with some good training under a cypress 3, soo it's possible just have to stay on top of your shit lol
