Hi, so I tried posting this elsewhere and didn't get an exact answer.
Long story short, I need some fluoro tubes to use while I'm not home because I can't leave the 400w HID on when I'm at work.
So I'll be using these tubes about 30% of the time through veg and flower.
Here's the deal: I currently have 4 t5 fixtures that hold 2-bulbs EACH.
So 4 x 2 = 8 bulbs.
However, they can only use up to 40w bulbs.
So 8 x 40w = 320w
Price aside, would it be a waste of time and money to use 8 shitty 40w bulbs or get 2 nice 60 dollar fixtures that hold 4 - 56w (or something) bulbs?
Would I be losing a lot of bud to go the cheaper way if I'm only using them 30% of the time?
I was also going to put some 42w CFL's on top.
Remember, these tubes are only to be used when I'm not at home to manage heat, I have a 400w HD.
THESE ARE THE ALTERNATIVE I HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING, IF NOT BUYING 8 40-w BULBS FOR THE FIXTURES I ALREADY HAVE
