Waited to start my Journal incase my first grow was unsucessful. I am 15 days into my first autoflower grow. It is also my first hydro grow as well.

Advanced Nutes are as follows:
Piranha .5 tbsp
voodoo Juice 50 ml
Liquid CarboLoad 10ml
Organic B 60 ml
Iguana Grow 40 ml
Tarantula .5 tbsp
H2 30 ml
F1 30 ml
Sensizym 100 ml

20 Gallon Res
Flooding 1 time per day
4" x 4" Rockwool Cubes
400 watt MH for Veg 20/4 cycle

Lets get started:

Date 2.26.11

Seeds ready to germ

Moist paper towel in ziploc bag

Little buggers popped within 24 hours. Placed in ph'd 1" x 1" rockwool cubes and were staring above ground on 2.28.11

Placed clear solo cup over rockwool cube to create mini greenhouse. Rockwool starters placed into 4" x 4" rockwool and into 4" netpots.

Tent is a GL80. Cant say I would recommend this tent to anyone other than if you are on a budget. I will likely be replacing the tent; leaks light, stitching around zipper let go... just poor quality.

This is the part of my journal I had a set back. I was having some ph fluctuation 6.5 - 6.8 and spoke to local hydro shop. They asked normal questions, Nutes, Media, Lighting Schedule, Res changes, Water. I said distilled water and the womans eyes got as big as dinner plates. She told me that was my problem and to switch to spring water, I told her that was opposite everything I had heard/read.

Being I am new to hydro and they seemed so helpful I thought they must know more than I...big mistake. as you will see over the next couple days . Corrected the problem with Distilled water and Epsom salt but not with out almost killing my Deathstar. The Russian Rocket Fuel didnt seem to mind nearly as much as the Deathstar did...

I was rotating these pics when I had to go and take a look again to see if I did really see pistils in the photo. I missed them when I was checking ph in the res.

Pretty sure I have 1 female and 2 males

Female with white pistils showing on day 15 already. Not even 4 inches high...



After my surprise with the one plant I that I would see if there was any pistils on the other two...unfortunately I believe they are male

Can anyone confirm what I think I am seeing?

Back for an update:

Deathstar (Soil) has exploded!!! Had to leave for a week and when I made it back in town I was amazed, hard to think its the same plant.


Russian Rocket Fuel come along nicely as well. There are new bud sites everyday, I am hoping for alittle more height out of the little guy.


Added to the arsenal today: Reverse osmosis fiter, and Hanna meter (ph/ppm/ec)

I hear that autos don't do very well in a hydro set up, this could be responsible for the stunted growth. I grow autos but I do it in soil and I usually get between 16" to 2 feet of growth depending on the strain. it usually works out to just over an ounce per plant. Looks like ya got about a 1/4 there.
