I would say dont even worry about it... I used 400wHPS through the whole grow and she vegged perfectly.... use some CFL's too if you want... happy trails

Just veg under a few CFL's. Get a hold of like 4-8 CFLs, and hit the plant from every side, you'll be veggin good man!

You cant put a 150watt in the same socket as the 400, if you just have one clone, pick up a couple cfl's or a flourscent fixture and veg under that for a couple weeks and then switch it up to the hps

People do fine with using HPS all the way through. The light is very intense, so just make sure the distance is good. If they show signs of distress you can always throw some screen over the plants to deaden the light a bit until they get more hardy...

it won't effect yeild hps is what you use to flower and it will work fine for veg

One thing I did notice when I was using my 400w HPS was my plants liked to stretch... so keep that in mind!
