400w Tent Grow

Starting this grow journal to keep track of things and get some input from other users.

My end game is for personal use. I don't grow huge, I don't grow a lot, but I do need to grow some!

The Seeds.
These seeds are bag seed, sort of. There was a male in an outdoor crop and my friend gave me the seeds. He doesn't know what plants are what cause he didn't care to label them. He thinks being a "strain diva" is ridiculous. His words, not mine.

The equipment.
Grow Tent, 3.5fx3.5fx6f
400watt hps
1 oscilating fan
1 exhaust fan

The soil and nutes.
The soil comes from a local company that is sold at their indoor grow store. Ill add a picture of the bag later. The nutes I have are General Organics Grow, General Organics Bloom, and a Cal-Mag supplement.

Other things to note.
I'm in Oregon, growing under recreational rules/laws. I can only have 4 plants of any size, clones, seedlings doesn't matter. 4 plants. Also I am only allowed to possess up to 8oz of dried plant. So Ive been growing 2 plants at a time kind of staggered. I have two plants currently in the tent, its a strain I've been growing for over a year now. I believe it was called Blue Fondue. I got cuttings for it off a different friend two summers ago. Anyways, I don't keep a mother of it and I failed to get any of the cuttings to root so I'm done with it. I plan to continue my some what perpetual grow. This grow journal may turn into kind of a perpetual grow journal but I don't intend to document the plants I already have in flower.

I forgot to mention that I veg in a separate area than my flowering tent. I veg my two plants under a 96watt t5 light. I have two of the 96watt t5 lights so if the plants get too big in veg I can give each one their own light.

Here are the pictures I've got20161024_184725.jpg 20161024_180957.jpg 20161024_181003.jpg 20161024_181004.jpg

The smaller one popped out of the soil 2 to 3 days after the first. I think the first one came out of the soil on the 18th of October. I also dropped the bigger plant from the top of my dresser today while moving things around and cleaning. It hit the ground and rolled. The top half of the soil came out but the bottom half with lots of lots of roots stayed intact. I had also just given them a small drink before it fell. Anyway I hope it recovers just fine. It should as I didn't really see any damage. That's it for today

Couple more days have past and it's come with a couple surprises!

This one is looking good, has some new growth. Also a second sprout has popped up. Not really sure how it happened but i pulled it out and trashed it(plant limits). Can two sprouts come from one seed? Or maybe my wet fingers picked another seed up? My money is on my carelessness.

This guy is showing new growth but also some deficiency. It has perked back up a bit from a couple days ago when it was really droopy. I'm not going to do anything about the deficiency because I think it would be worse to water it again when I don't know if it needs nutes or not.

I've never grown any seedings in this soil but I've done 10 or so clones and always gave them a light feeding a few days after they showed significant root development. (I clone and pop seeds into clear cups so I can monitor root growth).

If anyone has a suggestion on the seedlings feel free to leave it here

Been about a week, each has grown a good bit. Been giving small drinks every other day. My soil is coir based and seems to dry out quick in such small cups. they droop hard sometimes but in a weird way. hoping when I repot them in the next week they will straighten out

Here are a some updated pictures

Just a quick question for anyone that happens to be reading along. During my last move I broke my cool tube. it didn't break completely but a majority of glass was removed. for my small area I do passive intake and I exhaust by pulling air through the cool tube then out the top of the tent. I left most some of the glass on their so the the exhaust fan would still be pulling air around the light.

Well after the second time getting stabbed in the head(bleeding!) By the sharp edges I decided to pull the rest of the glass off.

Well I pulled the rest of the glass off and shortened up the reflector. then I cut a couple splits near the bulb socket and opened the reflector up. now it looks like one of those $5 reflectors from the hydro store.

However the socket still sits inside the metal 6" band that hooks up to my exhaust. will this still work similar to the cool tube? as far as pulling air over the bulb and then exhausting it? anyone ever tried it before? my temps are already low in my garage so it's not a pressing issue right now as I'm struggling to maintain a temp above 70 in my tent.

Anyway here's a picture. will this work?

I've had a really crappie start with these two, but after transplant they seem to be recovering and growing out of their problems.

I transplanted them into their final pots, assuming I decide to continue them to flower. I topped them also the day that I Transplanted them.

It's been roughly a week and here are some updated pictures.

EDIT
If you look closely you will see the that one of them is growing branches above the cotyledons. The other is not !

Very happy with the new growth over the laSt two days. The one that came up second seems to have more vigor in identical growing conditions. that's also the same one that has branches growing from the first leaves.

Gave them a little drink today with cal mag and grow(veg) nutes. Still growing strong. Have not done much except tucking the bigger fan leaves under the stems.

They still aren't showing sex yet, and they arent growing like a mature plant does. going to wait a couple more weeks and if still not showing sex going to maybe take some cuttings and put them in my flower tent.
