400W HPS Light Question PLZ HELP FAST

I have a 400W HPS Light, how far away should it be from my plants while they are budding? They have been budding for about 1 1/2 weeks now. Someone please help... and is there a plan I should follow for how close they have to be for what stage they are in during budding?

Just move it as close as possible. Put your hand right at the top of the plant. If you hand gets hot, raise the light a little until your hand is comfortable with the temperature. Then you know your plant will be too.

don't forget to check ur plants often as they will grow 2-3" a day and get closer to the light. So you want it as close as possible to reduce stretching and promote compact buds.

Put it 18 to 20 inches away.

Everyone checks their plants 10-15 times a day anyways.

I agree with both of these. Check them daily too cause they grow fast, lol. If you can get a cool tube for the light, that way, they can touch and not burn or stress if they have to. Good luck.
