Hey I just got a 400W hps/mh Kit with a cooltube and reflector. I was wondering If I could run this 12/12 without a fan and ducting? I have a regular large osculating fan I can put underneath it and face upwards towards it.

Here are some pics to show the the new setup vs the old shitty cfl setup.

Keeping a fan on it is a great idea but where is the heat going ? It will generally raise the room temp a 400 should be fine whats the size of room

By the looks it should be fine run light at night to avoid heat during day and will help with heat during night if that makes sense

Yea man, Not to mention it' in the basement so I can just open a window or two and let the cold Canadian climate take over ;) The room is 19ft by 14ft. Funny enough it is the furnace room and is also where I sleep XD

It actually looks like a painful job to remove the ballast from the tube. I got it it running though! Only bad part is I couldn't face that fan directly at the light because the reflector was catching to much wind and shaking the whole light alot more then what I wanted XD
