"400w" cob led panel

I got one of these from a friend. It draws 200w actual and have no clue how high from the canopy I should be keeping it. It looks like one of these. I've been using an HID up to this point but my friend loaned me this to try.

keep it 18" from the canopy until one side burns out then lower it a little

This light, much like many other eBay specials, uses poor marketing tactics to sell you a low quality product. The COBS are (probably) capable of 400W, but are only run at 200w. It's a 200w light. Might do better than a 150w hps, who knows.

from what ive seen the cobs are not capable of 400W, they actually run them near their absolute limit. the 400w is "hps replacement' marketing nonsense

thanks, i don't have any experience with LEDs. If anything I'll put it over the vegetable garden plants to supplement.

Had one of those shitty lights, it was called Roleadro when I bought it from eBay, both COBs cracked after a couple of weeks of use, waste of money. Seemed to put out more heat than actual light.
