Hello everybody,
I am new to this forum and i have found a lot of great info so far but not so much for a problem I have ran into. I have a 400 watt Applied Hydroponics, Inc Hydrofarm Grow Wing Series ballast. The tag on it says to use only 400w MH M57 lamp. I cant seem to find one. I have searched online and all I have found are M59 bulbs. Will these work? Its an old unit and still works. I have used it to grow corals in a saltwater fish tank. Also, is there a bulb out there for veg and flowering, one bulb that can do it all? I will buy two different bulbs if i have to but i don't have much money to spend on it. Any help would be appreciated!

you can use any 400 watt MH lap
yes there are bulbs for veg and flower...but nothing is better then HPS in flower/MH In veg the full spectrum that will work for both are poopy.

Also I'm guessing you ballast is magnetic and not switchable...There for you may run ONLY a 400 watt Metal Halide lap.

Thanks man! That put an end to a lot of confusion. It is magnetic, not switchable. What kind of bulb would you recommend?
