400 watt MH/HPS

I have a 400 watt MH anD HPS, right now I'm running the MH ON 100 % on the ballast, my question is how do I use the setting of 50 % 75% and 100%. Should I keep it on 100 all the time since they are autos? Or should I dim it down at different times through out the day. The lights are on a 18/6 schedule. I want to make sure I'm using it efficiently and that my girls are getting the proper amount of light.

The dim able feature is basically only for those who suffer with heat, they can dim it down which reduces the light to that much wattage if you can deal with the heat and stuff keep it at 100% at all times because that's the best, if you have some heat issues! dim it down and see what happens. I keep mine at full throttle the whole time.

Alright I don't think heat will be an issue, the room has good air flow an circulation.

If no heat issues, leave it on 100%.

100% idk u could dim for young clones or something. I run my auto's at 20/4 but everyone does it differently some do 24
