dj crane Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2009 #4 is it the right bulb? sorry for the obvious questions but just trying to cover the basics
OregonMeds Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2009 #5 Which ballast do you have and where did you buy it? Link? Where did you buy the hortilux? (thinking maybe someone ripped you off with a used bulb) Did you leave it on long enough to fully warm up?

adidas Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2009 #6 bought at a local store. had the light on 12 hours still not bright noticed was using a pretty small power cable, could that be the problem? going to switch to lower guage wire.

OregonMeds Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2009 #7 No the cord would have gotten warm or hot if it's too thin... Replace it if it did. Take the bulb back, it's either defective or you maybe got a used bulb someone already returned.

adidas Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2009 #8 theres no way improper wiring of the ballast could cause this?
adidas Well-Known Member Feb 7, 2009 #9 if the polarity was reversed could that cause the problem? i think we jst f'd up wiring the ballast
