How's it going growers, Ive stepped up my lighting to 400 Watt HID, Lumatek Digital HPS/MH Auto-Detect, currently using 400W MH for Veggin my White Widow Mother and two "accidental" clones and they are THRIVING!!! I gotta say the difference in growth between the 230ish watts of CFL and shop lighting vrs this 400 Watt MH monster (comparatively) is, pun intended, night and day, lol. This WW mother is growing so fast I might have to step it down to 250W because I'm running out of vertical room, I mean I can go higher but I'd have to pull out the top shelf and mount my light pullies to the ceiling or something?? Anyways, I will start cloning in the next few day to week, I heard that you should flush most nutes before you clone as high nute levels will cause slower rooting, is this true??? OK here's what I got: HTG Reflector 6" Air Cooled, 400 Watt Lumatek Digital ballast W/Super Lumens switch (hydro shop employee told me that using the Super Lumens mode will produce a different spectrum, can someone shed some light on this please????) MH/HPS Auto-Detect, currently using 400W MH & 68W CFL for cloning & vegging my White Widow mother (Isn't she BEAUTIFUL!), For flowering I'll switch to 400W HPS and possibly some 2700K CFL's or if I have the money I'll build an LED panel with high power 5W LED's (Yea baby!!) after I veg my clones under the MH. Still some work to do, vent holes to cut, ducting to run w/inline fans, carbon filter etc. I'll post more pics once I get everything up and running correctly, still half-assing it, however my White Widow mother and my two clones look VERY healthy so that's a good start. I'll update this as things progress and I'm really eager to get the ball rolling. I have other stuff and deals are being made on Craigslist so I'm pretty close to having most everything I need, got to get ready for work so I'll post more later, have LOTS OF ?????'S so anyone with experience growing in a closet with 400W HID shoot me a note post you thoughts here. Thanks everyone and keep em green.

Stay High & Keep Em Green Growers!

Come on people give me some kind of feedback??? PLEASE! As I said this is my first "real" grow and I need all the advice, suggestions and opinions I can get. I'm also considering going with a 600W HID instead of the 400W I currently have as I hear they put out around 30% more lumens and have the most efficient lumen-per-watt ratio. I'm using a closet about 8"x 3"x 7" and I will have a light mover so I think a 600W would be the best light to use for my given situation, would you guys agree??

400 watt is perfect.i got 3x5 closet.soon as i clone i root them and let em veg for a week under pc compacts.then i flower under 400 hps for ten weeks.i get nice nugs for small grow..i fit 8-11 females at once..no complaints!!

that huge amount of writing with no paragraph breaks makes it hard for this stoner to read and so i say fuck it and move on.

I can't complain about the results from a 400w.
I haven't bought weed since 2008, so it does the trick for my needs.
A 400w, a few cfls, and two closets will set you up with the basics of a nice perpetual grow.
This is what I use in my small perpetual grow (12 plants total, in various growth stages between the two closets)

Your plant looks very healthy, do you have the vertical room to allow it to double or triple in height once
flowering starts? While you're still vegging, you could always take more cuttings to lower her height.

IMO people overthink cloning even more than they overthink growing in general.
Cut, dip, plant, wait.
It's a bit more involved but isn't rocket science.
The best results i've had were with root riot cubes, clonex, a humidity dome and heating mat.
100% success in 7-8 days.
For as long as i've been using this method, any extra clones I take, in case a few don't root,
I end up throwing away because they always do root.
You're off to a good start with that beauty though!

My WW mother gave up 15 of her babies yesterday, could have taken several more but I was worried about shock from taking too many cuttings, is that something I should worry about?
I used a method a friend says he gets 100% success with; its Jiffy Pellets, a pre soak solution (V-B1, SuperThrive, soluble kelp & Root builder bacteria), Cloning Gel, Cloning Powder, heating pad, clone dome and CFL's. I used everything except for the cloning gel as I didn't have any and its been over 24hrs now and everything is looking good, only time will tell and my friend said he's seen roots in 4 days using this method so we'll see how it goes.
I built a CFL fixture that has two double socket sockets, if that makes sense, so it has a total of 4 sockets and as you can see in the pics I'm only using two of them IE: Two 65W CFL's (1-5000K, 1-2700K, 4300 lumens ea.), is that too much light for 15 clones? I thought I heard somewhere that when cloning you want a little red spectrum so is using a combo of 5000K & 2700K good or should I just use 5000K? Gotta go get ready for work so I'll keep posting updates and pics as things progress, things are looking good so far and I hope it stays that way.

Keep em green growers, unless their purple that is, lol.
