sure there are many different instruments that can be purchased to measure lumens foot candles spectrum ect.. my point was that showing a picture of a shed and asking how much light gets through is a question that cannot be reasonably answered by the users on this forum

If he used that he would be able to see which wavelengths of light penetrate the glass and if he got fancier in what concentrations... that would tell him if the glass is blocking or not.
