4 Plants and 12 CFL's

I have 11-23w cfl's at 6500k and 1-42w cfl about 3 inches above 4 plants. The 4 plants range from 1 inch to 4 inches. They are in about a 2x2x2 box with a 6 inch fan blowing on them. The temp stay around 80-85 because i live in south florida. They are surrounded by a car sun protector for the windshield. I believe they're made of mylar. Not sure. I had temp. problems and put a tubberware container of ice in there to cool down the room and add to the humidity. The ice worked good because i put it behind the fans intake. One plant has 2 leaves turning yellow. Not sure why.. maybe due to the heat problems before.


When should i start using nutes on them? Im about to now but thought i would double check. They are about from 2-4 nodes. I just made a mix of 1/4 MG All Purpose plant grow from K Mart.

Im also saving to buy soil for when I transfer for to bigger pots to flower in. I am planning on buying an organic soil and was wondering what to mix into the soil for nutrient efficencies.

If the car protector you are using for the Mylar has the foam on one side that will add a lot to any heat problem. I switched to an emergency blanket from Wal-mart($1.89) and one coated my whole box. It noticeably lowered the temp from the sun reflector with foam.

Also I'd wait until at least 3-4 nodes before using nutes.

why so many little cfls? Im running 6 42W(150 watt equivalent) for 1 plant but I am getting more as I go and waiting till I have 12 42W to run on 3 plants. If I were you I would go with the Mr. Pacific and do what he says he seems very knowledgeable. Hope you can get those temps down a little, find a closet or maybe use a unused room such as myself and really get these plant a cooler spot! Thank You Mr. Pacific, for the info. I did not think of the sun reflector as a insulator. But i thought it would be better than a blanket. Ill buy a blanket asap. I also added a high ventilator fan in front of it. Temps stay around 80 now. =] My plants are on their 3rd set of 5 petaled leaves. Not sure what node. Hard to count... Maybe 5-6 nodes. Ill start adding nutes now. I think the yellowing to my plant is fert burn. I think. Because I have 3 perfectly healthy plants and one abnormally tall one thats a little yellow.

Also, Token. I have such small plants because I bought the lights over time. Im on a tight budget and bought them little by little. I think 12- 23w CFL's is plenty enough for 4 plants in such a small area. Also, thank you for the site you posted I will store in my favorites. =]
