4 plant in 18 gallon sterllite root tangle?

can someone clear this up for me this is my first time growing and i've been reading lots of thread but i still cant find any answer may someone help me :[ im using a dwc system im wondering if plant would eventually die of root tangle?
 
Most likely not. That's alot of dirt. I have seen a guy on here doing a sog setup with 3 plants in 1 gallon pots. They go in the soil as soon as they root and are flowered and dead in 50-60 days. Not enough time to cause any real problems. I myself am using window boxes. 24"x6"x8" and put 3 plants per box because they are from seed and have a large root system already. When the clones are ready they will be 4 to a box because they don't have such a massive root system....

Die no but tangle yes. We had 5 plants in a large rubbermaid DWC and when we had to remove some males from the container it was a bitch.

But the tangling didn't cause any stunted growth or injuries to the plants
