4 - 3x2 trays, small space

Hey guys!!! I'm not sure about a few things, and am looking for some input from a few more knowledgeable people.

Ok, lets say that I wish to set up a table in a room of normal height, which would hold 4 of the lowes (heard they were cheap+good) supertubs. The problem is, that this would only leave exactly one foot of space on all sides of the 6x4 table (holding the 4 trays). That is, the room would only allow for a 1 foot walkway around the table.

From my understanding a sea of green (I think this might work here) with a short flowering plant is a great yielder. Am I wrong? Was thinking of an 8 week good yielder.

So, a few things that I'm a little unsure about:
1. About how many plants per tray (6?)
2.about how much lighting to cover that 6x4 table of trays (2-1k hps more than enough?).
3. Might that 1 foot of free space surrounding the 4x6 table be enough to walk around and manage the plants if necessary? or, should I user a smaller table with smaller trays? Pond liner just as good?

Edit: Oops, I forgot to mention that this will be a hydro setup (tables high enough to fit resevoir underneath), though I'm not sure about which method yet (ebb vs drip - still researching both).

Basically, my main concern is if 1' walkway around the table will be enough space when the plants expand, since I'm not sure exactly how wide they spread during an 8 week flowering cycle :(. Otherwise, I'll just size-down a bit with smaller trays.

Oops, this may be better off in the room design & setup section. Also, I've decided on a drip system, since 4" of water in 1 tray alone would take about 15 gal...unless you don't actually need 4". Pretty much ready to go, except for the table setup, which I'm not sure would allow enough walkway room.
