Is this light good for vegging how many plants?

6500k is OK, and as many as you can comfortably fit DIRECTLY underneath.
I only say this, because the 4' fixtures are bulky for the amount of light they produce, that's why you won't see many people asking questions about them.

I've been running my 20"x49" veg box with a 4 bulb T8 fixture for over 3yrs now, it will work.
