or would it be better to let the cool tube have fresh air from out side to cool it and have another fan to extract air from inside the tent to out the tent
would it work if the air inside the tent was sucked through the cool tube and then out of the tent or would it be better to let the cool tube have fresh air from out side to cool it and have another fan to extract air from inside the tent to out the tent?
I'm using the same tent also with a 400w cool tube. My 2 -4" vortex fans are located outside the tent with one pulling through a charcoal can/cool tube...the second fan blows in fresh air ducted in from a crawlspace. The fans stay at around 1/3-1/2 speed and I stay at 77-81 degrees during the 16/8 cycle. Very controllable....exhaust empties into a large closet......4 autos are in flower and are very stinky when the tent is opened but no odor at all in the closet.....My cooltube setup is like the pic above except I have the charcan above the light so it's drawing the heat at the top of the tent also.....
The reason I asked is that not everyone uses a carbon scrubber. I try not to assume.
One other option is if you require the least sound possible from your grow you can use two smaller fans with a lower sone rating, but a total CFM that is the same. You can put one on either end of the flow, or use two ducts.
i got a 435cfm in my dr100 pullin through a 400w/ daystar hood and i resupply the tent with the heat to keep it warm cause its in my atiic and have an 80cfm intake fan at the bottom bringing in fresh air
