3rd week of Veg leaf probs (pics)

So this is the end of week three and the plants are acting funny. I had 4 of 7 sprout, and two of those 4 are doing alright...until a few days ago.

I will list the problems I have had in order so maybe someone sees a pattern I've missed.

1) All 4 plants sprout within a few days of each other.
2) 2 of the 4 plants grow A LOT faster than the other two (pictured on end)
3) Brown rust spots start to appear on the 2 plants that are bigger. Nothing but stunted growth at this point for the two smaller plants.
4) Keep nutes the same for scheduling (3 part fox farm schedule FoxFarm Soil & Fertilizer Company)
5) Read that the brown (rust spots) without wilting leaves is a sign of mag deficiencies.
6) Flushed system, added Epsom salt and balanced PH.
7) the rust spots were still spreading on the lower fan leaves but the upper ones were clear and healthy looking.
8) Cut the lower fan leaves off incase it was spider mites.
9) woke up this morning and the rust spots had spread ALL OVER the upper fan leaves and are spreading more now.

Sory about the pics being kinda blurry. But if you notice the rust color seems to travel in between the viens of the leafs.

This is an aero garden set up that will be moved to a 600w HPS/MH soon. The new setup is a bubbleponics.

I have tried and read everything I can get my hands on.
I have already balanced Ph to 6.0, looked for mites and webs, and even pulled some water out and replaced it with distilled water to dilute the nutes....still no change and im afraid within a week it will be over with.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

OK things have gone from bad to worse in one day....the pics below are taken today while my post yesterday pics are from 24 hrs ago.

I need some help or im gonna be starting over within 2 days.

As you can see the plant is pretty healthy looking besides the rapid dying fan leaves.
You can also see that the two plants next to them are VERY stunted. They were planted at the same time ase the bigger plants.

i had mg deficiency and it beat up my plants pretty well and i lost alot of leaves. if thats what you have( it kind of looks like it) then expect to lose the effected leaves. the epsom salt may have fixed you and it may take a few days to notice it on the new growth.

probably not a whole lotta help telling you to wait and see, especially when i know how it feels watching so many leaves turn brown so quickly.

i hope the salt worked out for you or, if not, you hear from someone else who can help you fix it up.

good luck

Thank you for your kind words. I'm not sure if i should cut these off cuz they are surely dying and i might as well let the light in to the smaller leafs.
Im even thinking this is normal just the starter leafs dying....or maybe im just wishfull thinking.
My next time may have to be soil....even tho i have a nice hydro set up. Just seems like alot more forgiving with soil.

Well, growing in soil is a lot more forgiving, and it's the best way to learn to grow pot. The AeroGarden is really not well suited for growing seedlings, you'll have much better results growing cuttings. A seedling has one main root, the taproot, that goes downward and grows as big as the stem of the plant above ground.

As for your plants, it's tough to tell but I can't call that a deficiency at only 3 weeks old. I'd say it's a toxic nutrient situation. The damaged leaves will not recover, the new growth is what matters.

Heehee, I'll bet the 2 larger, stronger plants would be males, and the 2 scrawny little ones are the ladies. :blsmoke:

I assume you've started over by now, I'd grow out your seedlings in soil, and take cuttings from them for the AG.

HTH

Thank you very much for your time, PR.
Things have slowed down a bit for now. I think i am going to set them up in soil when i move to the MH/HPS.
