Alright, I have converted a bedroom to a flowering room. I will be running aeroponics, 3 - 6" pvc pipes with 5 sites per pipe except the middle pipe which will run 4 sites. So a total of 14 plants per light. The dimensions of the bed room are roughly 12x11x8 ft.The area I will be using will be roughly 8x11x8 ft. Now I had a problem last summer with heat so I obviously needed A/C. I also needed to change my grow room lay out, especially with the acquisition of two Raptor hoods. I have 3 - 1000 watt hps bulbs. 2 raptor hoods and 1 XL. I have a 6" 400cfm HO fan on the XL. For the raptors i'm using a HO 8" 800cfm fan. (I think it's an eco-plus?) So it might be over kill but it definitely works. I have a phresh filter rated for about 750 cfm and a maxfan fitted for it. My intake fan is only 250 cfm and it pulls air from the same closet as the lights. The closet is completely sealed off except for a vent cut into the wall. On the other side of the wall is a room with a window so this closet is filled via passive intake. I use a hepa filter in the vent in order to keep the fresh air as clean as possible. The lights also pull fresh air from this closet. So far, it works fine. Each Aeroponic unit will have a 40 gal reservoir. With air stones. They will all be controlled via a timer set to 1min on 5min off. (I've tried 24hr flows and they work well the only downside is they heat up the water.) I have co2 running and I have a total atmospheric controller. It works perfect to control the temp, humidity, and co2 ppm levels. (The only thing I did wrong was seal my room completely, AFTER building it. I did a good job sealing it up but it doesn't look as nice as it could have. But what matters most is functionality not cosmetics.) So a total of 42 aeroponically flowering plants on a 3 week perpetual harvest. Meaning 14 plants per harvest every 3 weeks, or roughly 1-2 lbs every 3 weeks (depending on strain and plant sizes).

I have also built two other rooms (out of panda film, duct tape and staples.) into separate parts of the laundry room. The smallest of the these veg huts as I call them is the mother hut. It's roughly 4x6x8 ft. It's lighted by one 4x6 T5 light. It has a 250 cfm intake with a passive exhaust. 6" ducting connects the two huts. The veg hut is roughly 5x10x8 ft. It's used to raise fresh clones and veg upcoming clones. This is for the perpetual cycle. The Veg hut has a single 1000 hps bulb. It's in a XL hood and is also on a light mover. It has a HO 400cfm in line fan that pulls passive air from inside my laundry room to cool the light and exhausting it outside. There is also a HO Can Fan with a filter constantly pulling hot air out of the room and exhausting properly outside. I have passive air intakes cut into the wall with hepa filters on them too. The veg unit will also run aeroponics (obviously). The veg unit has 4 6" pvc pipes with 5 sites per pipe. so 20 sites to veg. The reasoning for having at least 20 plants only to choose 14 means. You can at least account for stragglers, and only pick the best 14 plants for flowering. There might be cases of dying plants due to clogged sprayers too. Aeroponics is quite unforgiving yet generous at time of harvest.

Now I know I could grow more plants with this space using aero. however I prefer to grow larger plants and keep my counts lower. I'm not a commercial grower so I don't see the need for a 64 plant system per aero unit. Besides, instead of cramming plants too close together in budding. I've designed these aeroponics units to be precise. Each flowering sight has exactly 1sf of space to grow. This is to give them room to breathe. While allowing the plant to reach maximum yields.

I will be growing a different strains. Jack Flash, Jack Frost, and Master Kush are the only strains who's genetics are guaranteed. I also have Vanilla Kush, Pineapple Express, and Purple Diesel. I also planted a seed I found from some Jack Flash. It has huge indica type leaves so I think it's Jack Flash female X mystery Plant male, but its a female so I'll try her out first. All Mothers are in soil. I will be waiving the Vanilla Kush, P. Express and the P. Diesel via budding them out. I will no longer carry them until I can get guaranteed genetics. I have also ordered Afghan Kush seeds and Grand Daddy Purple Seeds. Hopefully they get here soon.

I will post pics and Video soon about my grow. I just wanted to set up the intro of how and what and why for this journal. I have been running aero for about more than two years now. I have failed and succeeded but have learned and grown from accomplishments and mistakes. I hope to learn more in order to become better and better. Please leave any questions or comments you might have I will be adding to this regularly.

hi clouds been thinking for a while about useing aeros, but been told its tricky to start with.I was looking at the 16pot amazon kit in a 1.2mx1.2mx2m tent with 2 600w hps lights and sutable ventalation.Just wondered if a aero pro like u would have any tips for me

thanks for ur time

If you are gonna try to grow 16 in that space dont veg them for too long (depending on strain of course). If you let them get too big and they dont have proper space to breathe you run a chance of developing powdery mildew or even bud mold, while diminishing (in my opinion) your overall yield. But it does sound like you should have enough space and light to do well. Make sure your reservoir stays as cool as possible and start low with nutrients. I've found my plants thrive in lower ppm and high ppm but lower ppm tastes better and is easier to flush.I have Jack Frost and it stretches a lot. Supposed to be indica dominant but I see more sativa. Since it stretches (x2-3) I've had success vegging them for no more than a week from clone. Last set up I had 2 - 6' pipes i believe. each pipe had 8 sites so a total of 16 for a single 1k hps. I vegged for 4-5 days and then went straight to bud. I didnt even have co2 and each "clone" yielded at least 1oz per plant all one solid nug. Each plant was probably about 12-16" high. I had problems before letting them veg too long plus different strains. Some over grew everything else. So I would say one strain or similar strains only. is optimal.

Use h2o2 29% or higher (prefer 35% aka food grade h2o2) to take care of any bugs on your roots, it also cleans your equipment and your roots. dilute h2o2 at 1-3mL per gal (4/L) up to 1Table Spoon per GAL. I've even heard using this to water plants in soil if they have a bug problem.
I use this formula and run it in my reservoir 30-60min before i add any of my nutrients. I do this Each week, I drain the reservoir and wash it out and the pumps too. I fill the reservoir, add h2o2, run 30 min minimum, add nutes (one at a time) and then ph. I also use Hygrozyme too, I add it with my nutrients though.

thanks for your reply helps alot does it really matter what brand of nutes you use? im using GHE for hydro and coco just now with good results i was planning on keeping EC at 1.5 for max and ive read to keep water temperture at 20c dont know if this is low or high im looking at moby dick 2 for a strain havent grown before dont know what its like for stretching looking forward to seeing your picts and hope u have a good grow

As far as nutes GHE will work perfect. The more soluble the nutes the better. I use mostly organic with a couple synthetics. Easy to burn you plants in aero. I usually run my ppm at 600-800 but have been up to 1600-2000 ppms too. As always the colder the h2o in your reservoir the better. I find a cheep (although pain in the ass way) to cool the reservoir if you are having trouble controlling temps. Is to freeze empty 2 liters or empty milk gallons with water and add them to the reservoir. Another method to help is a timer for you pump. That way your pump isn't heating up the water by running 24/7. (I usually only add frozen 2L of h2o to my ez-cloner, since the pump runs 24/7, my other reservoirs are on a 1min on 5 min off recycle timer. its fully adjustable too). Also I'm having trouble uploading my videos, so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. I installed the software that came with the camera but my computer says the format is unreadable.

glad u think the GHE nutes are good. Bought some mineral magic. It says its water soluble, is it alright to put through aeroponics. Just bought a GHE aeroponics system (40x2 inch pots). Never knew H2O had to be that cold, top tip with the frozen milk bottles. Cant help with your camera trouble i'm havin trouble puttin pics on as well

The h20 doesnt have to be cold for clones, for some strains I find this helps. As for reservoirs its a cheap alternative to a water chiller. The cooler the water is the less chance of developing root rot, and in aeroponics/nft it can help increase your yield especially if running your pumps 24/7

Quick question about height, im doing my first grow and i decided to do aeroponics using a system i found in a high times magazine. my grow room is a shed i built, 10x12x7 but for now i only have one rig set up using 2 4" fence post with 7 slots each set 7" apart. My plants have been vegging for about 5 weeks, i had some initial trouble figuring out ph and ppm balances that stunted them initially but now they are looking pretty good. my largest ones are now about 2.5' tall and are about 6" away from my light, the shortest ones are about 1.5' below the light. I know the buds need room to grow so i have been bending my stalks outward to give them more space but i need to know if i have already let them grow too much. do i need to trim them back? if so how much? and do i need to wait for new shoots to develope before starting them on their flowering cycle? I'm growing OG Kush by the way. Ph 5.6, PPm 1650. running 1k watt hps and 1 400w...(not really sure what, i got it second hand for free so i didn't ask questions at the time but im assuming its HPS)

im a total noob at this and any advice from a professional such as yourself would be a huge help. im also having a problem with yellowing on my upper leaves, the veins are dark greens so im assuming its an iron deficiency but I've also heard that that can just be due to the heat from being too close to the bulbs.
