Nice work, I heavily LST and get far bigger yields due to it, I tend to do it earlier though which I find easier as the main stem is 'bendier' and when it hardens up there is no more need for string. I had an incident where during the dark period one night it grew so much that the string cut into it, I couldnt believe it... I do find as well that heavy Lst'ing adds days, sometimes weeks onto the overall finishing time. Nice grow though and what strain is it?

well the lst was kinda a late decision i wasnt gonna do it but then that one got alot taller than the other one so i had to to keep the light more even.... as for strain its a bagseed from a really decent .... and yeah i heard that too that heavy lst , topping basically anything makes it have a longer finishing time due to the recoop time rite?

comming along real nicely from a cfl grow i take it those are bagseeds? {be honest} whats the total wattage in there?

lol yes they are now bein called bagseeds we got that straightened out lmao its all good itll smoke rite lol,,,,, and its only 292w 2 68 watters top and 6 26 watters side

I've always heard that you shouldn't start lst in flower. LST is supposed to help the plant grow more secondary shoots, which isn't going to happen while the plant is in flower anyway. Seems kind of pointless to me.

When Lst'ing you adjust the 'real' top so that it is lower than another part of the plant, the plants new 'top' then has more nutes and carbs sent to it to make it grow like the 'real' top, when repeated you end up with a horizontal branch, or 2,3,4,5 with many swollen top colas. I have heavily lst'ed for years and on average my plants take 2 or 3 weeks longer, but yield 50% more so ROI is good.

if you use the line 'ive heard' then you dont know do you? Speak from experience not hearsay, hearsay helps nobody.

yeah the reason for the late lst was that i need to even out the plants height so i could keep it close to both plants it was double the hieght of the other one and i wasnt gettin even coverage from my top light so i tied it over italso ended up giving more light to the lower branches rite under the main cola their all bout the same size there ,,, lst is not only to develop side branching it can be for light penetration , and also neccesity( ie hieght requierments)

actually the man was dead right on this. thats one of the things lst does is tricking the plant into thinking its been f.i.m. but it also makes the plant closer togather wich is good has hell if your using cfls or low wattage h.i.d. so your kinda both right. it maybe kinda late in flowering to lst now maybe not. usually when you flower for a while the stems get hard to work with bending

home depot 14.99 each there 2700K and produce 4200 lumens

damn 15 bux? but that is a beastly cfl commercialy i have never seen bigger then a 42. i know they sell like 300 watters online

yeah there huge the ballast on em is the size of a coke can around lol

and heres a pic you can see the reason i tied so late the lights still crooked and from the bend down it was too stiff to bend

and sorry their blurry the lights make it hard for a good pic

the person I "heard" this from has a degree in horticulture, so I figured he knew what he was talking about.

LST works to "trick" the side branches into thinking they're the top cola by rerouting growth hormones to the side branches.

When the plant is in flower, it isn't producing those same growth hormones at such a high rate anymore because it's focused on flowering.

Not that tying your plants doesn't serve other purposes, but at this point you aren't "training" the plant, you're just tying branches down to allow for air movement.

Just because you've got some string on your plants, doesn't mean it's LST.

it actually is training i started to go in a semi circle and it did promote the top half of the plant to grow thicker anything you do to a plant to alter it from growing naturally you are training it there are many forms of LST( LOW STRESS TRAINING) tying the plant over is a form of that it was TRAINED to grow side ways and it was done using LOW STRESS methods so hmmm easy way to say what i did was LST so calm the fuck down CHITOWN said your rite you rephrased what WOO said and and kno it wasnt air flow it was to keep the light from being at a 45 dergree angle showdowing the plants..... if your gonna act like you kno something dont contradict your self and if you wanna argue it pm us dont do it here this thread was to get opinions and comments on the progress not to discuss what LST is or isnt thank you.....

I have a botany and horticultural studies degree but thats not the point, I just find the comment 'I've heard' used all too often and it usually means 'I think'.

lol thats exactly what i mean lol but anyway ill bump this so itll be back on the first page hehe
