I cant say if its better than the old version because i never tried the old one. I will say tho, i own that light and absoluely love it. I have a room full of top notch Led fixtures but my 315 will always have a home in there somewhere.

No unfortunately i dont have any specific journals for the cmh plants, its always been a secondary light to my leds in the flower room, so i havent really been recording those plants. It grows dank bud tho, very dense, frosty nugs.
You could prob go back to my first journal and see some pics towards the end, im really not sure tho.

Vertical bulb allows you to get the light much closer to the plant, usually 16-18". Whereas with the the horizontal fixtures you have to keep them further away from the canopy. The Vivosun is best kept at 24". In other words, you get more room with the vertical orientation.
