315w CMH ballast question.

Hey there, about to throw my 3x3 veg tent up with a 315w CMH and I have a question about a reflector and ballast I’m looking at.

https://heavygardens.com/sun-system-lec-315-ra-remote-reflector-24-plt.html

This is the hood I would like to use, I have heard great things about the Sun system reflectors. In the description I says it is compatible with the Sun System Galaxy LEC and Sun System 1 LEC brand remote ballast. Does that mean it is only compatible with those 2 exclusively? The Galaxy has awful reviews and the Sun system 1 is a little pricey. And then I found this ballast.

Is says it is compatible with any remote LEC remote reflector. Sorry if this is a dumb question I just don’t want to pull the trigger and have it not work. Thanks!

With a cmh bulb adapter, you can use a 315 CMH bulb/ballast in any hood you want.

Dont limit yourself to those types of goods if your not 100% happy.

Thanks for the reply! I see a lot of people running the sun system remote hoods and love them, I just didn’t like the idea of purchasing their crappy ballast. What is your opinion on vertical vs horizontal bulbs? & Would you recommend a better hood for a 3x3 tent? Thanks!

I do things my own way. I dont follow the "crowd". I use big kahuna hoods, x6 total. Prism ballasts and Philip's bulbs.

There is no difference in a very or horizontal bulb. There IS however a difference in an open fixture rated and an enclosed fixture rated bulb. Get the correct bulb for your setup. T9 ot t12 are the options
