I found some ~3 year old seeds that have been moving around with me and in and out of storage for a few years. They have endured temps below 10F and above 120F for extended periods of time. There was about 16 seeds in total. Ranging in size and color, most likely from different plants all of high quality. 4 seeds germinated. This is our story.

!!!!COME JOIN ME HERE EVERYDAY FOR UPDATES!!!! 8/9/2016
Starting week 2! Come join me in raising these old seeds, I will be posting updates daily and input of any kind is always appreciated. This is my first grow so the help is needed! All photos are taken at the end of the light cycle. Currently the grow room is a small closet in stealth conditions, with cheap materials.

I do not have pictures for days 2-6 but I am taking them from now on. I only have the timelapse video from day ~2-7.

August 3 2018
Day 1 Seedling Veg Cycle

About 16-18 seeds were germinated in a paper towel with water. 4 seeds have sprouted and are ready to plant on August 3 2018. The seeds have been planted in Miracle grow potting mix soil. Hopefully this soil will be good for the vegetative stage and work with the future plan of growing purely for clones and polen.

All 4 seedlings look healthy and had a successful transplant into soil. A few hours later the 2 seeds under the soil have sprouted just above. I removed 2 seed caps from the tops of the plants at the time. One of the plants still has a seed cap and the other plant lost its seed cover in the paper towel.

All plants were watered with water that has been sitting. Not PH balanced, only a small amount water was used. One plant was accidently overwatered. No additional nutrients added.

Day 2
Nothing really, light mist

Day 3 Aug 5
Full watering of 6.0 PH water. Light cycle started, 20/4.

Day 4 Aug 6
Added Humidifier (manual control), normal opp

Day 5 Aug 7
Nothing Normal Opp

Day 6 Aug 8
Normal opp.

2 weak plants and 2 strong plants. Plants 1 & 3 look the healthiest and are growing the fastest. Plants 2 & 4 are showing slow growth and health issues. Plant #4’s first set of spiked leaves have not grown out and are staying roughly 1mm thick and growing slowly. Plant #2 has some warped leaf areas near the center of the stem and is refusing to grow its 2nd node.

Day 7 Aug 9 (End Seedling/Veg week 1)

Brown areas on plant 3 continue to grow. Plant 1 is great. Plant 2 & 4 continue to lack and show disfigures.

The plants are infected with tobacco mosaic virus and will be pulled. Its currently week 3. One plant is suffering severe deformations. Another plant has not grown past its first leaf. The next 2 seem to be doing well, not showing signs of the virus however I will guarantee infection for all if the one has it with how I handled them.

Part 2:

damn your title had me fooled there a minute...thinking a 3 year old had somehow abused your seeds? regardless what is the strain you are growing there? are you sure its mosaic virus? ive had seedlings that look like that after ive crossed plants where the genes did not match, when i see a batch of seeds that has a high percentage of types like that its best to move on to something else
