3 dead germinated seeds; what could the problem be?

Hi there,

I started a 4 pot, 5 gallon soil grow a few weeks ago with a 2000w King LED that pulls about 385 actual watts. I germinated 4 Swiss Dream CBD seeds with the paper towel method. All the seeds popped and did well. 2 of the germinated seed ended up growing nicely and still are. The other 2 ended up dying. I decided to germinate 2 more seeds, 12/26, to replace the dead ones and they popped as well. I transplanted both germinated seeds into their respective 5 gallon pot. Today, one of the seeds ended up dying yet again and still waiting on the other germinated seed to sprout. I keep my 4x4 grow tent between 68 degrees-78 degrees and for humidity it’s between 60-70%. I water with a mist sprayer bottle every other day lightly to moisten the soil. I suspect that I may not have added sufficient perlite and the soil isn’t draining efficiently causing damping off. This is also my very fist grow so this is all a learning process. I’ll attach pictures of the dead seeds. What could be causing the seeds to be dying and the other 2 pots be growing well?

If it looks like they are pinched in somewhere along the length then its certainly dampig off.
Usually caused from excess water and being in cool temps.

Once your seedlings sprout just put them in beer cups or some sort of really small container until the roots are big enough for the next size pot... I never throw seeding in a five gallon that's just crazy to me

Try germinating in the medium from the start to avoid double handling and letting the sprout get too long before planting , if the sprout is too long in the paper towel it runs out of gas and dies.

Damping off can be caused by fungus in your soil along with excess moisture ,some people prefer starting in smaller containers to have the ease of control of watering before transferring to 5 gal
