3 day old seedling first true leaves problem

My seedling is 3 days above ground, ( took 2 days to germ )

It currently had its first set of leaves growing, and can just about see the next set starting.

issue is - the first true leaves are curling downwards, and have started from the tips becoming a darker shade of green which is almost crispy, the very tips are folding flat on the underside of the leaf

While the true leaves are doing this, the baby round leaves, are perfectly healthy.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

light - 2 inch below a 20w cfl ( got a 300w duel spec arriving in the next few days )

medium - B&Q multipurpose compost ( states it is fine for seedlings / clones )

Nutes - NONE, just tap water that has been left out for 24 hours

Watering - Wetted the compost till i had runoff before putting in seed, havn't watered since

May this be because i may be underwatering?

thanks

A Picture would be needed to better understand what is going on, but when watering any seedling never soak the soil until it is completely saturated, that is called OVER WATERING. A little tinny plant has little tinny roots and does not need a two week supply of water all at once. Next time try planting the seedling in dry soil and then add a few drops of water at the stem. When it dries out usually 2-3 days add a few more drops and so on and so on, increasing the amount of water given as the plant gets bigger. Little plants = little water uptake.

Over watering will damage the plant and block need Oxygen from getting to the roots, that’s why drying the soil out between each watering’s necessary. Happy roots = faster growth.

And for all you naysayers out there try it, take two seeding and over water one and water one as I suggest, and watch the growth rates. Same goes for clones, less water, allowing the root area to dry out will force the plant to grow roots and look for water.

I do agree, pics would have been far better than text alone. i will post some pics tomorro.

I only wetted the soil, i did not saturate it, It has been 5 days since then, the pot is only 4" diameter.

Pot is very light now, which is why i am thinking underwatering,

WILL HAVE PICS TOMORRO

My camra pics of the seedling are to fuzzy, but i have found someone elses pick of a leaf, which is identical!

My leaves are exactly the same as this pic, but are the first true leaves ( 2ndset just started to grow )

I have suggested you over watered based on this comment

a
nd then you tell me I’m wrong with this comment,
I only wetted the soil, i did not saturate it.
So let’s say I’m wrong, your light is only 2” from the seedling, that’s kind of close at 3 days old don’t you thing, but I have been wrong before you know. Just because it’s not hot doesn’t mean it’s not too much light.

The picture of someone else’s plant doesn’t really help because he may have treated his plant differently than you have; it’s not just the pic or text, it’s a combination of both. In that picture without knowing how it was treated I would say “If that leaf was near a light, it’s light burn”,but if it wasn’t “Then it’s over watering”, and if it was neither then it’s nute burn. Are you starting to understand yet?

I’m out of here, good luck.

Edit:
P.s Also that could be a fungus or even be Phosphorous deficiencies if it was in the budding stage.
