2x 1000's or 3x 600's?

To cover 8x4x6 (DR240W)

2 1000s - 2 x 100cm parabolic

3 600's - 3 x 80cm parabolic.

I would go with the 3 600's and put a Metal Halide bulb in the middle one.

7200k MH or something nearer 5K do you think?

My personal choice would be in the 7200 range. But either way your plants would get benefit.

Plus I have heard it said that the plants under the overlap under such mixed lighting do better than those under a single light type.

So make sure you have a rotation system for optimal results.

Or you could just leave um put and just turn them in there spot to see the different effects of the lighting on the plants.

The plants are in a Scrog so I cant rotate them unfortunately.

Is it worth having the MH on the left side for 3 weeks, middle for 3 weeks and then the right side for the final 3 weeks? Or should I just plonk it in the middle and forget about it?

Middle

Although if you're feeling awfully scientific, you could move it weekly. I would think getting a wider angle reflector for the MH might be beneficial, not sure what your space restrictions are.
