2nd Grow Starting But.................

Hey guys after my last grow werent very succesfull, i have got 5 nirvana bubblecious seeds i have germinated 3 so they have got little white roots coming out off all them and put them about half inch down in a 6cm peat pot filled with miracle gro moisture absorbant compost., they have been like that since yesterday afternoon i have watered them and now put them under a fluorescent tube. is this ok or will it stress the plants, should i have left it in the dark still or does it need the light? or shall i change light?
Also shold i put them on a 18 hour light 6 hour dark cycle or 24 hour light or what, they are auto flowering feminized nirvana bubblecious.

is that miracle grow with nutrients in it? time release? You don't want any with the babies my friend. Specific 'seedling' soil is what we always go for.

We want some air, moisture and warmth right now basically, hence humidity domes/propagators are good. I will often keep misting them lightly during this stage. They will require the light once they break the soil so is fine to be there.

Autoflowers do not need a change down to 12 hrs of darkness so you can run at 18 or 24 tho 24 will give best results.

No nutrients in the soil just extra absorbant so requires 50% less water, not going to start any nutes just yet i made that mistake last time and nute burned all my first lot of fan leaves (the larger ones)
atm i have them on a plate roughly a foot beneath my fluorescent tube. i use a spray to mist them like 2/3 times a day but dont water them.

Though they are autoflowering surely i still should change from a fluorescent tube to a higher power bulb still?

What sort of light you have is down to costs and space available to grow in.

In the vast majority of cases HPS is going to be the best combination of costs, quality, yields etc but it will require adequate cooling in a big enough space and can cost up 200 bucks or so to set up.

If you have very small space or no money then you look at the alternatives like cfl which you can still do okay with just not as well as HPS.

As for nutrients, I am, like many of us, an organic grower in the main so any reputable organic soil should be fine, just not 'time release' nutrients in it. Fox Farms is one I know of but here we use Canna and Cannabium ranges which are closer to home.

I highly recommend in most cases:

quality soil
bat guana
organic veg nutrient
organic flowering nutrient
organic booster.

about it really.

ok basically i have two wardrobes and im having the whole of them as places to grow intending for 4 plants in each one. so basically for lights what would you reccomend im going to be buying a humidity/thermoter within the next week to keep that sorted i have already purchased a soil ph tester.
