26 excuses for hating freedom and voting for a statist stooge

(9) I am not impressed by a candidate who inspires people, especially young ones, to read the great economists and political philosophers.

(14) If someone has a drug problem, prison rape is the best solution I can think of.

(24) I want to be spoken to like this: “My fellow Americans, you are the awesomest of the awesome, and the only reason anyone in the world might be unhappy with your government is because of your sheer awesomeness.”

I don't share in your FAITH that a "free-market" will fix everything. Ron Paul is just another politician. You think he is special because he is really the first one to be popular on the internet which has only been around for the last half dozen presidential elections anyway. He isn't the messiah bro. Stop worshiping him, he is great, but the cult mentality you guys have scares sane people and scientists and writers. It doesn't seem to scare the Klan though.

You can give me money, and I'll go make the ZOO!

I didn't run away, I got a sandwich.

WOW!!!! Are you a professional psychic? If you are, you suck at it. You are going to assume that you know why someone is a Ron Paul fan. How elitist of you (and wrong, too). You fit right into the mold of the rest of the sheeple.
Some of us have been supporters of the Constitution and liberty before the internet came along. Maybe you should leave such topics to the adults.

Are you calling me an "elitist" because you perceived that I called you a cult adherent? Or because I don't worship Rawn Pawl? How does that make me sheeple if I refuse to conform to your beliefs?

Are you not aware of how much of Ayn Rand's philosophy went into this Free-Market version of Libertarianism? It isn't my job to educate you, but I do take pleasure in pointing out that you sir, are the one with a group mentality. Hey I like the guy too, I just don't worship him or tell myself that his shit smells like roses. What, does that insult you? I didn't say I hated him, just that the cult mentality of his followers makes me want to troll.

First. I am not in the Ron Paul fan club. I like some of what he says and stands for and I am not at all in favor of other things he says and stands for.

You are right to say the free market cannot fix everything, because a true free market no longer exists. In it's place is a bastardized version of a pseudo-free market and socialism.

But if we cannot rely on what we now have that is inaccurately called a free market, than what do we rely on? The government and it's increased intrusiveness and it's never-ending ever-growing business strangling regulations? Given the government's proven track record for unequaled incompetence and disastrous failure I am about ready to let the decision making be turned over to that camel that predicts Super Bowl game winners and the chicken that predicts World Series winners, or even Punxsutawney Phil, or my cat. None of them could ever possibly be anywhere near as inept at decision making as Obama has been and pretty much the entire rest of the government, on all levels, has been.

Dissent is patriotic.

I did have to chuckle at your signature line. "Dissent is patriotic" is what it says, but of all the current candidates for president it best describes and defines and fits Ron Paul. But you don't like him.

Everyone else is a perfect example of sticking with the status quo. They only offer more of the same flawed, failed ideas, beliefs and ways of running things, just in some cases packaged behind a different fake smile. Everyone else is just a leader in a different chapter, a leader of a different club, of the cult of personality.

I feel exactly the same way about Rawn Pawl as you do. He is a good, albeit imperfect, human being.

He does seem a bit confused doesnt he?

Perhaps one of Obamas sheep in wolfs clothing.

So he sets up a strawman and you attack it. I'm probably going to vote for Rawn Pawl, I'm just not worshiping him.

I guess that may seem like confusion to a CULT ADHERENT.

Sorry no sale, you aren't going to vote for someone whose name you refuse to spell properly.

Besides you seem far too bitter, acting as an candidates supporter to troll actual supporters is old-hat.

I should have realized from the title this was another Holy Ron The Paul thread. May his Sacred Vaginal Speculum bless you and keep you safe (or on your back with your feet in the air).

I don't really care if I am labeled as a cult member. I am excited to finally see a real person running for president. Someone who speaks from his heart and stands by set principles. Someone who does not take money from lobbyist to sway his values. A peacemaker, who has set out to prevent wars and promote the idea that we should honor our soldiers by being more cautious when entering into conflicts. A man that tell the truth, regardless of how it will effect his vote count. This man is not a demagogue, he is refreshingly honest and promotes freedom from oppression and common sense economic policy. He inspires young people to take interest in politics and economics. He has encouraged the younger generation to play a role in the future of our government. If this is what a cult is, then I'm all in. I will simply not stop talking about Ron Paul or hide my support for fears of being labeled a crazy cult member. Now back to Dailypaul.com I go! :)

So if I support a candidate, I can't call his other supporters cult adherents and white supremacists. I just have to love everything he says and worship him. I have to spell his name properly and I must convert to Objectivist philosophy and change my surname to Rand, I must then denounce all other candidates and refrain from blasphemous statements cause I'm voting for him to be GAWD, not potus. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

When I was born Ike was in the White House, though of course I cannot really remember him. Even though I was young I started paying attention to politicians and politics after JFK was assassinated.

Name me one politician since that hasn't sounded at least somewhat confused at times and hasn't made at least some contradictory statements in their entire political careers and or in a campaign.

We have had presidents and members of congress who at some point did an about face in their political philosophy and changed political parties and then preached the exact opposite of what they used to believe in and preach. We've had a former paid KKK recruiter later preaching about equal rights. We've had myriad politicians caught telling blatant outright lies, some minor but others major, while campaigning or in office. The list of politicians who have said; "if I am elected I will..." and then they went on to make a number of pledges of things they absolutely positively would do if you give them their vote. Then if elected few if any of the pledges have been honored. Many others have said things, sometimes multiple times, that if not actual and intentional lies were just flat out pure and simple inaccuracies, that they wrongly believed to be accurate.

Why would anyone hold Ron Paul to a higher level of consistency, clarity, accuracy and honesty in what he says than any other politician has been held to, other of course than the obvious reason of someone just not liking him so they attempt to point out what they want to be seen as unacceptable flaws, flaws that at the same time they readily accept from the candidate of their choice?

Show me where I have ever readily accepted any candidate doing anything I have pointed out as a flaw in other candidates.
