ok so i was rockin the cfls and i just moved into flowering...today is the fourth day. i had 8 23w 2700k soft white cfls for flowering.... but then i came upon this 250w mh light and set that baby up......so heres the thing...i had both the mh and the cfls going and someone said to just use the mh light.....so what do u think is best??? 1)only mh 2)only cfls 3)or both?????

ight hope u guys have some good info....cause i need answers so hit this up!!!!!!!

happy rollin an tokin:eyesmoke:

p.s i have picks now so check em out and tell me what ya think??!

Since those are your only options to pick from I would say it is obvious to use both.

It is not ideal but since ideal is not an option in this case, using both is your best possible option to pick.

I would only use the cfls b/c you are getting more veg light from the mh when you need more flower light from the cfls. You need higher color spectrum for flowering (CFL's) then veg colors from the mh!

do they make a veg light for mh set ups???

Yes, its called a High Pressure Sodium lamp. Typically, MH is not very great for flowering. Dual spectrum is the best though! thats whats closest to the sun.

get a High pressure sodium conversion bulb for your metal halide ballast. Other than that, I'd say using your combination of warm white (2700k) CFL's and the 6400k metal halide, you'll get a pretty balanced spectrum. That set up would be more ideal for vegging because it's still really heavy on the white/blue light, but it's not like this kind of light will damage the buds or anything, and as stated above, the more light the better, regardless of spectrum.
