I'm sure this topic has been discussed already but I'm new to the forum so I apologize in advance if it has been a worn out topic. Anyway, on to my question...I've got a 250 watt hps light and have always just grown one plant under it at a time but I'm now wondering if I could grow 2? I have modular wall set up that I place around the plant (and possibly plants) that is top to bottom mylar and it has a mylar floor with a small opening on one side for some ventilation from a fan. Would this set up be ok for growing 2 plants or should I stay with one. When I grow one it is a sativa hybrid but strongly sativa but only growing to around 3 ft. I'm wanting to grow a slightly taller indica variety next to it both feminized and again just wondering if this will be adequate light for both plants?

sure is kushey.. my last grow i grew two nice plants under one 250 hps and got nice results... about two ounces dry from each... not bad at all i thought for a first attempt and only using a 250.. alot of people think that a 250 is too small and blah blah blah.. but i think that they are great for small grows and in small areas..
check out the 250 club and see some of wretched nice grows under a 250.. the club is a good place for motivation and to see the potential of a small hps..
good luck with your bro kushey

Thanks for the info! Its much appreciated! What/where is the 250 club? I apologize but as I said I'm new to the site. Just joined today. Lol!

Welcome to RIU. Yes you could grow 2 beautiful plants under a 250. Personaly i think you could fit one more under there that would give each plant 83.333 watts a peice wich is perfect. Good luck

Thank you very much for in input as well as for the welcome! Ill give it a go with the 2 plants I think. I was just concerned with the fullness of the indica that it might over power the sativa and not let it get enough ligh as I'm using a 5x5 grow area.

So what is the 250 club again? I deduce that its people who all grow using 250 watt lighting but if its on this site I can't find it....can anyone lend some direction?

250 will do two plants up righteously..... veg long and tie them down and you can have your 250 watter like 5-6 inches away with a decent fan....closer with a cool tube.

most def. i use a 150w hps for two plants with cfls as side lighting n it works great so u will have no probs.

your area is a little big for that light wich is ideal for 2x2-3x3 for better results, but if you train the plants proper and keep the light close your gonna still yield well

Cool! Thanks a lot for the input man! I really appreciate it! I can def close the gap on the 5x5...that's just my floor space area. My walls are modular so I can close in or open up the grow area at will so I can def close it to a 2x2 or a 3x3 in literally a few seconds. Thank u again for the advice! This board is awsome!

your welcome kushy....if you grow the right strain and do some heavy l.s.t. and topping you can pull like 2-2.5 oz a plant

I'm 3 weeks into flowering on my first indoor grow... I have a 250 watt hps.. Started w/ 6 bagseed seeds and I will say that was probably a few too many for the 250 watter.. Ended up w/ 2 females... They are really soaking in the light, 50 days old and a little over two feet tall!!
So yes, a 250 watt will work for 2 plants...

If you're using feminized seeds, don't plant more than 3 or 4...

Good luck 2 ya!!!
