250CFL or 150HPS????

im growing in a cupboard at the mo i am vegging 2 plants under a 125w cfl, i will bring them into flower as soon as i get the right light jus wondering which would be best for overall yield a 250 cfl or a 150 hps as they are both about the same price.

also i was wondering how many plants i could flower under either of these lights, could i do 4???

those numbers don't mean anything, what is the lumen output of each bulb? The one with the higher output is the one to go with.

HPS all the way. Ive run 640w of CFL and the lumen output (85 real watts x 8 pushing 4500 lumens each) wasnt even close to the 270w HPS I ran. Growth was faster and more lush on the HPS even though it was less watts and only slightly more lumens. Rock a that 150w HPS cooltube and put the lamp about 6 inches above the canopy and you will never regret it.

Rock on and overgrow the planet.

That entirely depends on your square footage. 4 plants in a small closet under a 150w hps would produce a nice crop. The more plants, the more space, the less light concentration. Think of that and plan accordingly. You want 50w per sq ft as a minimum, and I suggest 80.

got my 150W HPS the other day so i have now dropped times to 12/12 from 24/0 and moved my 2 plants into a 3ftx3ft grow tent any idea how long till the buds start to develop, n roughly how long it will take untill its ready for harvest

I Veg'd and Flowered 2, 3' Plants under the 150watt HPS and tossed in a 42watt CFL just for the Colour change...If you SCrogg it i say u can easily do 4 plants under the 150
