yea but just wanted to make sure, also you said you bought the 315 hows it workin for ya, did you buy the multi spectrum or flower? or veg? I am just wonderin if i buy the hood, and then seperately put 3 250's in it will it be ok or is that too much wattage for the set up? Any ideas? Oh yea i look at that website often and totally missed those, good call brother !

Whoa, that's WAY overpriced for a 4-way splitter. I've seen them for half that price at the hardware store.

I think the ceramic ones can handle higher wattage bulbs than the plastic ones, but it also depends on how much wattage the actual fixture you're plugging it into can handle.

There are also adapters that turn a regular outlet into a light socket. You can make a "light fixture" out of a power strip using those. If you could put a 250W bulb in each of the outlets of a six outlet power strip, that would be pretty fucking awesome don't ya think?

Lowes has 65 watt 2700K bulbs that fit a regular socket. $16.00 roughly but for my small grow space, two of these on a splitter and five 42 watters gives me 340 watts in a 16" x 36 x 42 space. I am trying the big wattage to see if I get better penetration from above and side lighting with 42s. I also have two mogul bases wired up in there but just use the 60 watt 6500K. I also bought two of the 125K mogul base bulbs but the bases I bought wont kick on the higher wattage. No sweat really, the correct base with reflector costs the same as the bulb, about thirty bucks. My current rig will be used for veg and mothers while a new flower space is in the works for winter.

By that time my fourth bag seed butchery/ dial in will be complete and maybe I will pay for some genetics.

42w 2700k 3000 lumens each (170w replacement) $4.97 ea.

I've been using 3 of these plus 1-26w 6500k in 12" brooder reflectors (available at your local poultry supply house or electrical supply) for a full spectrum setup that uses 152w and produces 10,600 lumens.
$35 per assembly. Not quite HPS numbers but, hard to beat for growing bushy plants less than 24" on a budget.

1000bulb.com give it a try.they did well by me and prices were reasonable.i use a couple of 105s wall mounted and put old cds under my pots and just pull out whatever i need too.good luck!

Cool...its a volcanic eruption photographed at night....I have others and they all have that spectacular lightning.
