when putting your plant in 24 hour darkness does this force the plant to show its sex?

No.

even if youput your plant in 12/12 it can take up to two weeks to show sex.

male will show first at least 2 weeks before females.

I go 36hrs in dark, then the normal 12/12 schedule after that, and yes it does speed up the sexing. "by a few days"
