240 CFM inline fan with 470 CFM Can filter

as long as the fan doesnt over power the filter you are good. otherwise the filter is just a restriction at that point.
 
I have a 200 CFM can filter right now and it's not doing the job. It worked for the first week and then started to smell. Plus when I went to write a review about the can filter itself on amazon, I noticed that they jacked up the price from 47$ to 95$.

What brand filter you got brother? I recommend the 'mountain air' ones...feel SAFE as with mountain air.
 
its actually ideal to make sure the cfm of the filter is higher than the fan, and the higher the differential the better the carbon filter will remove odor.

this. Plus it reduces the wear on the fan..increasing lifespan and keeping noise to a minimum
